ELA: I am excited for this new school year and look forward to a great year. Our first big unit will be a study of Animal Farm, which we will start mid-August. Other topics we will study will be a literary analysis of two Harry Potter passages, examining the two sides of Jefferson, analysis of Hamilton: An American Musical, and several graphic novels (March Series; Yummy; American-Born Chinese). We will write a lot with an end goal of students being prepared for Honors and AP courses at the high school level and beyond.
Physical Science: This course is an Honors HS Physical Science course. This is a challenging course, and we do move quickly. Do not hesitate to ask questions or stay for tutoring when needed. We will have a great year with a lot of hands-on activities and labs. In the next week or so, look for information regarding USATestPrep (login directions) as this is a valuable resource. We will spend Thursday and Friday reviewing the Metric system and how to convert mathematically within the metric system as well as density. I look forward to a great year.
